(Bill of Materials data import)
The Visual BOM application is designed to build and manage complex assemblies from a Bill of Materials (BOM) report.
The use of the Visual BOM app allows the user to generate complex assemblies, complete with sub-assembly detail, from a supplied BOM report. The BOM report could be an exported file from your ERP or MRP system or a customer supplied file such as an xls, csv, txt etc.
How it works
The app imports data from a file you have either generated on your ERP/MRP system or has been supplied with. The Visual BOM app flows that data in to Visual IPI. Your BOM data is also auomtically flowed in to AS9102 form 1.
Step 1, Create top level part in Visual IPI that you wish to import data against.
Step 2, Run Visual BOM app and import your file. The Report Type & Report Style can be applied globally or individually to each part, sub-assembly ABC003563 has been deselected with a single click removing it from the imported assembly.
Full assembly created in Visual IPI, from this point you can run the Visual FAIR app for example and see the data within the assembly flow on to the AS9102 form 1.
The Visual BOM is supplied tailored to suit your specific BOM report format, regardless of ERP/MRP reporting software. Multiple report formats can also be supported.
Using the BOM report file output from your ERP/MRP system Visual BOM imports the data to create & manage the assembly, removing time consuming and potentially flawed manual transcription of data.
Efficiently recreate the assembly from the BOM data, ensuring items are not overlooked or missed and that additional items are not included by mistake.
The Report Style can be set globally for all parts, or set individually on a part per part basis, ensuring all items within the assembly/sub-assemblies contain the correct set of required forms & reports.
The Report Type can be set globally for all parts, or set individually on a part per part basis, ensuring that each item is treated using the correct and appropriate method. Standard hardware or catalogue parts can be set as such providing visibility for follow on users to attach the correct documentation.

Visual BOM imports data from systems for example SAP, SyteLine, Oracle, Cincom etc. In fact we can import data from any system, all you need to do is provide the exported data file to the IPI team and we will take care of the rest. The price below is the same even if we have to custom write an import routine for your ERP/MRP system.
