VisualCMM
(CMM data import)
The Visual CMM application is designed to manage and import your inspection result data from an electronic CMM report into FAI, PPAP or other inspection report formats.
The use of the Visual CMM app allows population of result data into any inspection report format with speed and accuracy.
At the process or inspection planning stage you balloon, or bubble, the manufacturing drawing(s) to uniquely identify the design features and then use and include those feature references (balloon numbers) during the setting up of the CMM routine.
On completion of the CMM part inspection, simply output an electronic report from your CMM machine/software in machine readable format such as; CSV, Excel, xml, etc.
The Visual CMM application is then run within the VIPI environment against the relevant part and a user interface allows the user to browse and find the CMM report, with the report selected the user has full visibility of all features including requirements, tolerances and CMM results, clearly indicating where result data is available and the pass/fail status of each result.
The operator has complete control of which results they wish to import before actually completing the data import, including when a part contains multiple operations against a single feature the user has full control over which operation any result data is to be imported against.
The import process once confirmed completes almost instantaneously.
With the CMM data import completed validation of the input results is readily and visually indicated when the part is opened using one of the other Visual applications such as Visual FAIR/PPAP/RDE.
The status of the part and any result data imported into the part from the CMM and/or other apps can be reviewed and is completely visible in the following applications; Visual FAIR/PPAP/RDE.
It is usual that the majority of components checked by CMM also require some degree of additional manual inspection techniques, the outstanding results can be collected using one of the other Visual applications, either Visual FAIR/PPAP/RDE/DPP/etc.
As the majority of parts inspected using CMM also require additional visual or manual inspection techniques the data for these results can be entered using one of the following applications; Visual FAIR/PPAP/RDE/DPP.
